SONG: Dream of JeanMarie by the Tombstone Teeth

DREAM OF JEAN MARIE performed by THE TOMBSTONE TEETH

From the Full Length album “Bells of Orchids”

LYRICS
Picnic time, and my first wife (Elizabeth) unfolds red plaid blanket, placing basket on top. Paralyzed, strapped to my chair, I’m gazing at insects (ants) on parade in grass.

My second wife (Melissa) swats a mosquito with her fist, mashing it into a bloody scribble on her forearm, smiling demurely, saucing sugar into iced tea.

My cornea is twitching in pulsated patterns in the sunlight blight.

My third wife, (Belinda Five), contently unfolds saturated napkins overloaned with greasy chicken links. My tongue rolls on my teeth, dry on back, wet on tip.

There’s a dragonfly on my neck.

My fourth wife (Stephanie Teeth), hands out emerald utensils, and the phone rings.

All at once my 47 wives freeze, tension high.

My fifth wife (Jeanmarie) hands me the phone.

It’s Stan; “REECE, he exclaims! Concentrate on the insects! A calculated trap. You’re in a straight bubble of illusion. I married Jeanmarie myself…remember? You were there!!”

Hmmmm. The phone is unceremoniously snatched from my paralyzed ear.

I remember then: The Great Hall…the mandolin…the FEAR.

And as a thin strand of drool plunges down my throat, the gig is up.
